Your support of The Royal Melbourne Hospital Home Lottery, allowed us to do something truly amazing.
We officially opened our new Acute Stroke and Neurology ward for the more than 1,000 stroke patients we treat each year, and we paid for it thanks to funds raised by our Home Lottery.
Here at The Royal Melbourne, our dedicated team of nurses, doctors and allied health workers treats and cares for the sickest of the sick when it comes to stroke. Which is why we have been working so hard and now lead the way in stroke care and research.
The Royal Melbourne Hospital is a state wide provider for endovascular clot retrieval and we also have Australia’s first Mobile Stoke Unit. Our new 31 bed, purpose built stroke ward is the last piece in what is now a truly comprehensive stroke service for our community.
Every ticket sold in the Royal Melbourne Hospital Home Lottery supports patient care, equipment and research at our hospital. Yesterday’s opening is just one more reason for everyone at the RMH to say thank you, to you, for your support.
In the words of our new ward’s Nurse Unit Manager, Corey Swift:
“To all the supporters of the Royal Melbourne Hospital, and everyone who bought a ticket in the lottery, thank you very much. If you have ever wondered where the money is spent, you can see from this new unit it goes to direct patient care to allow us to give patients the very best outcome.”
Each time you buy a ticket in The Royal Melbourne Hospital Home Lottery you are helping us to provide great care for even more of our patients.
We simply couldn’t build world class facilities like our new Acute Stroke and Neurology Ward or conduct world-leading research without the help of our wider community. I know I can speak on behalf of everyone at The Royal Melbourne Hospital Foundation and the entire team here at The Royal Melbourne when I say thank you for your steadfast support.
